Creator Talk is a series by Cora Music featuring interviews and conversations with creators about how they work, think, and stay creative behind the scenes.
For Emelie och Jonas, the creators behind YouTube-channel Helltuna Hotrod & Kustom, it all started with one thing: a love for cars. More specifically, the joy of working on old rides and putting their own spin on each build. “What inspired us to start the channel was the joy of the car hobby and our passion for putting our own touch on our cars.” they say.
Bringing Viewers Along for the Ride
There’s no big production or scripted moments here. What you see is exactly what you get. “We just try to be ourselves. People get to follow along as we work on our hobby and rebuild older vehicles.” It’s that genuine feel that makes their content stand out.
Music That Matches the Moment
Music plays a big role in their videos, not just for the background, but to set the right tone for each scene. “It’s super important, especially when we’re showing different parts of the process of a build. The music helps set the mood.” They don’t just throw any track in either. “We choose music based on what the video is about and what kind of vibe we want in the video.” And yes, they have a favorite: “The Go Getters!" (Click on the link to listen to The Go Getters music.)
What Makes Their Videos Sound So Good
When it comes to finding the music for their videos, Cora Music is their go-to. "What we like most about Cora Music is that everything is handled fairly, everyone owns their music, and the artists get paid what they deserve for their work."
What They’ve Learned from the Journey so far
Like any good build, growing a YouTube channel takes time, patience, and consistency. “Being consistent and staying in touch with the people who follow us, that gives us a lot of joy.” And when it comes to inspiration, they look both backward and forward: “We get a lot of ideas from the older generation of builders, and we also watch a lot of other YouTubers who restore and fix up classic cars.”
