Creator Talk is a series by Cora Music featuring interviews and conversations with creators about how they work, think, and stay creative behind the scenes.
When Guy packed up and moved to Sweden in 2024, he brought two things with him: a love for photography and a Land Rover Defender. Now, a year later, his YouTube channel documents the whole move and life. The planning, the daily life, the emotional ups and downs. From overland drives to slow coffee mornings. It's all part of his creative expat life.
“I really wanted to share my love for photography, but also the fact that I planned and moved to Sweden in 2024. As it’s a big process and thing to do there are loads of factors to talk about in what to arrange and expect when you actually take the step to follow your dream of living in another country. And I really hope for people to get something out of what I share for themselves if they want to go through the same process.”
It’s not all mountain views and fresh air. Guy keeps it real
“I think by sharing multiple and various subjects about moving to Sweden, how my daily life looks, but also how it feels after certain amounts of time in the good and less happy times. It’s not always an easy process but I try to be honest about the hard parts too. It seems that people like me being honest about the struggles but definitely also the happy parts and feelings about living in Sweden now. What I also share are overloading trips with my Land Rover Defender and also hiking trips in the Swedish mountains.”
Drone shots, silence, movement, all of it depends on the music
“Music is really an important factor to connect several talking parts in my video’s, those are filled with scenic shots from a drone for example. Music that adds to the scenery and makes it even more beautiful to look at.”
He spends time choosing the right track
“I always look for a slow based track, as the scenery requires slow cinematic music. It’s quite a process to find the right track, as I am very picky with the music I use in my videos.”
That’s where Cora Music helps.
“I really like the search option with the ability to pick instrumental, the energy and mood of the song. It's really helpful for me to get the right track(s) for my videos.”
Some artists stand out
“So far I have used the most music from Pernilla Osterberg, slow beautiful classical music, perfect for a cinematic transition between talking parts in my videos on YouTube. For my coffee making reels on Instagram I mostly use a jazz song as that works great with coffee videos I think.”
He describes himself as a diesel — slow to grow, but consistent
“I think I am a diesel in growing, so slow but consistent, I post every week one video as that’s about the most time I can spend on it now unfortunately. I am just over a year of uploading videos now, except for one week, sometimes you get sick. I upload every week and still doing that, besides a continuous uploading pattern I think a key point is getting the right title and thumbnail, but also keeping your audience interested with different topics or subjects you share.”
A few YouTubers inspire him to keep creating
“There are a few that I follow and really inspire me, Jonna Jinton and Kalle Flodin (both sharing about their lives in Sweden), Nigel Danson and Mads Peter Iversen I follow for photography video’s. All four have been inspiring me with their own way of telling a story.”
If you’re a creator looking for real stories and thoughtful filmmaking, Guy’s channel is worth watching. His videos aren’t polished highlights, they’re steady, honest and personal. A reminder that building something meaningful takes time, and that everyday moments can become powerful stories when told well.
